The Monad mainnet is getting closer and closer.
And with that in mind, in this text I’ll explain the reasons that led me to decide to buy the MON token and add it to my hold wallet after Monad’s TGE.
1. INVESTMENTS IN ITS ECOSYSTEM
One of the most important factors for a company’s success is investing in itself—if it doesn’t believe in itself, why should you believe in it?
In Monad’s case, they’ve been investing in their ecosystem long before the testnet even began.
Projects like Monad Madness and Monad Mach helped create some of the most famous and useful dApps and NFTs in the ecosystem today. On top of that, there’s also Monad Shark Tank, where new projects are presented weekly to the community and receive free feedback to improve.
And that’s not all – recently they also launched Monad Residency, where projects get their stay covered while undergoing training to learn how to grow.
Builders in Monad are not alone.
The Monad team understands that much of their success depends on the success of their dApps and NFTs—that’s why they’re doing an outstanding job in developing their ecosystem.
2. CLOSENESS TO THE COMMUNITY
Monad has a motto that the community comes first, and while that sounds great on paper, it’s actually very hard to put into practice.
Yet, I feel like they’re pulling it off.
For nearly 7 months I’ve been actively engaging in the Discord, events, and ecosystem of this layer 1, and I’ve been positively surprised by how close the team is to the community.
Even though I’m not an influential person:
- I’ve had many questions answered by the team (Mikeweb never left me without a reply)
- I’ve been able to ask Keone Hon questions directly through The Pipeline program, and thanks to a prize from that program …
- I even had a chat and got a James’s Car NFT from James Junsaker (which is now my favorite NFT, because to me it represents that closeness between the team and the users).
I’ve spoken with several people from Monad and all of them said they got their questions answered – nobody was left hanging.
But this simple fact isn’t the main reason why I feel drawn to invest in Monad.
Because I believe closeness isn’t just about the team replying to you – it’s about the ecosystem serving you, having things that attract you, and Monad has that.
They host hundreds of weekly events, thousands of dApps and NFTs covering all sorts of topics, and communities in many languages. If you don’t like something, just look around within Monad and you’ll find something that interests you.
3. A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT VISION FROM OTHER LAYER 1s
During the time I’ve been following this project, I’ve seen many important decisions being made – here are some examples that I consider key:
https://x.com/monad/status/1942933687978365289 and https://x.com/monad/status/1956027923015622925 – Acquisition of Portal + Monad in South America
I’ve already explained the Portal acquisition in other texts, but in short, it’s something that can greatly help Monad’s global adoption, especially with credit card usage.
And focusing on South America was a brilliant move—they’ll likely see faster adoption here due to poor banking systems and the high use of stablecoins as protection against inflation in local currencies.
https://x.com/monad/status/1957804522803249271 – Monad Cards for people outside Monad
https://x.com/monad/status/1938270958369841217 – Monad Residency open to teams from all networks (not just Monad)
Monad Cards and Monad Residency were two decisions that clearly showed Monad’s intention to attract people from outside their ecosystem to discover what they’re building—they want to break out of the bubble.
CONCLUSION
In short, what attracts me most to Monad is their vision.
They are a high-quality project, with an extremely efficient team and a passionate community.
I don’t know if this network will become an Ethereum/Solana killer. I don’t know if it will achieve everything I believe it can—there’s no way to know that.
I just know they’ve been doing an amazing job, and everything points to them continuing to do so after the mainnet launch.
